Mining Robot and Drone Services
Our extensive work in underground mobile fleet automation has demonstrated the overwhelming safety dividend delivered by removing people from hazardous areas. The capability Telepresence offers in terms of inspection and data capture in hazardous or inaccessible areas offers a step change in the way we work underground. Be it the inspection of a seized Raised Bore, the remote laser scanning of an inaccessible area or any other project where remote data gathering is required, ADR can use our exisiting fleet of drones, UAVs and robots or design, build and operate custom vehicles to satisfy the requirement.
UNDERGROUND MINE INSPECTIONS
After a seismic event, mud or fines rush, hung draw points or ore passes, or to re-enter an old area of the mine, we have a number of mobile robots such as the “Dropbear” system that can be sent beyond line of site into the mine to provide video, laser scanning or other data gathering. As our systems are network based, it is a simple exercise to mount and control IP based sensors such as gas monitors, thermal cameras, pyrometers, etc. This enables the mine to quickly and safely recover from unexpected interrupts to production and to provide authorities with a safe plan for the initial inspection for re-start.
Our services include:
- Remote Video Survey
- Remote Laser Scanning
- Vertical Shaft Inspection
- Remote Thermal Imaging
UNDERGROUND LASER SCANNING
Laser scanning is quickly becoming the technology of choice to rapidly survey large areas of underground mines including;
• Stopes
• Blocked Ore Passes
• Survey of caved in areas
• Drawpoints
• Undercut and overcut measurements
• Waste fills
• Large excavations (fan chambers – pump stations)
• Shafts,etc
The ability to mount a laser scanner on a remote vehicle means that these surveys can be conducted without putting personnel at risk.
Australian Droid + Robot use the Clickmox versatile 3D Scanner which is capable of both high-resolution stationary scans and continuous scans.
Our services include:
- Mobile and Stationary Laser Scanning
- Point cloud generation, mesh and surfaces creation
- As-built drawings from point cloud and various calculations such as areas and volumes.
- Creation of “fly-through” animations
AERIAL INSPECTION
Above the ground, ADR offer a range of aerial inspection services. Our fleet includes both fixed wing and multi-rotor drones that can provide aerial photography, video, 3D photogrammetry and Thermography. If the requirement is to determine the volume of a stockpile, the geometry of an open-cut or sub-zone, or to complete a thermal survey of a solar farm to locate dead cells, we can assist.
Our services include:
- 3D Photogrammetry
-
Thermal Imagery
- Stockpile / Sub -Zone Monitoring
- Orthophotography
- Aerial Photography
- Aerial Video
CUSTOM BUILDS
Given ADR’s extensive Robotics and Automation Experience, we can custom design and build remote vehicles to suit any mining application. With an extensive Rapid Prototyping capability and a talented and creative engineering department, we can quickly implement remote robotic solutions to provide the data or to execute the task the customer requires. We are proud to be an Australian robotics, drone and UAV manufacturer.
Our workshop includes:
- 5-Axis CNC hot wire cutter
- 3-Axis CNC Mill
- 3-Axis CNC Router
- CNC Laser Cutter
- Composites space
- and more
